We are pleased to announce firmware version 3.3.2 for Geist Upgradeable PDUs, Watchdog 15 and Watchdog 100 Monitors.  This firmware release supports Geist’s proprietary Visible Light Communications (VLC) data upload via the local display. VLC requires the use of a handheld device running the Geist Mobile application, available on iTunes.

About this Release

Geist firmware version 3.3.2 supports VLC ‘air gap’ communication, Geist Discovery Protocol (GDP),and resolves SNMP communications timing delays present in v3.3.1.
Compatible with ASU v1.20.0.2 or newer.

Enhancements

  • Visible Light Communications (VLC) data upload via local LED display.
  • Local display can now be configured via GUI Display menu to show either Total Power (kW) or Amps (A).
  • Added links in System menu to Enable/Disable VLC and Total Power (kW).
  • Geist Discovery Protocol.

Bug Fixes:

  • SNMP communications delays present in v3.3.1.
  • RSTP system improvements.
  • A2D sensors recognition and stability.
  • Unresponsive or intermittent IPv6 router operation.
  • System reboot caused by SMTP configuration with username and no password.
  • Addressed potential Cross Frame Scripting (XFS) vulnerability.

Attention

Please Note:

  • This release is supported by Geist Automated Smart Updater (ASU) version v1.20.0.2 or newer.
  • Migration to v3.3.2 is available only for products running v2.0.0 or newer. For products running v1.x firmware, please contact Geist Technical Support for upgrade assistance.
  • Once you update firmware to v3.3.2, you may not downgrade to a previous version firmware. Please contact support@geistglobal.com for any additional questions.

We’re pleased to announce firmware version 4.4.0. This firmware release includes improved stability and performance as well as additional enhancements.

Where possible, it is recommended that the PDU is rebooted prior to applying the update to v4.4.0 by pressing the grey reboot button on the face of the PDU.

  • Added functionality to separate the ability to enable/disable SNMP v1/v2c and SNMP v3 independently.
  • Added ability for users to set hostname on device
  • Added device reboot button to GUI
  • Added ability to upload SSL certificates
  • Created Web Server page under System menu. Moved HTTP/HTTPS settings from Network configuration page to Web Server page. SSL certificate upload is also located in Web Server page.
  • Changed Firmware Update page to Utilities page. New page includes options to Restore Defaults, Reboot Monitoring card, update firmware and Factory Access settings.
  • Outlet power on state now defaults to ‘last’ (Switched RCM and RCU only)
  • Delta load currents added to SNMP MIB
  • Multiple GUI optimizations
